Illovo

Clusters, courtyards, and a lot of clean glass.

Illovo borders Melrose directly to the south — a mix of established freestanding houses, secure clusters and increasingly, luxury apartment blocks, many with the same big-glass brief we see across Melrose Arch.

What homes here are like

Illovo runs from tree-lined freestanding stands near the Melrose boundary to more compact cluster and apartment developments closer to the Sandton corridor. It's one of the more varied areas we cover — a single street can have a 1980s freestanding house next to a recently built block of apartments with the same floor-to-ceiling glazing you'd find in Melrose Arch.

That variety means we quote everything from a full-house re-fit to a single apartment's living-room wall, often for owners who've recently bought into one of Illovo's newer developments and are fitting out from scratch.

Which products suit Illovo

For the newer clusters and apartment blocks, our roller blinds and day/night blinds cover most rooms cleanly, and motorised control is worth considering wherever a body corporate wants a uniform look across multiple units. For the older freestanding stands with more traditional window shapes, timber venetian blinds often fit the character better than a plain roller.
